Inspire Health PPG and Ashgate Hospice

If you doubt whether the patient voice can influence health care matters then surely the example of our support for our local Ashgate Hospice will convince you.

 

In December 20 our PPG was shocked to hear that the Hospice was in severe financial difficulties and was going to have to enforce redundancies and reduce services.

 

Inspire PPG contacted the other PPGs of the town and strong representation was made to the commissioners that we regarded the Hospice as an essential component of the end of life care provision in North Derbyshire.

 

We believe our voice was listened to and thankfully the commissioners did manage to negotiate with the Hospice financial support that helped the Hospice to remain viable.
